Healthcare is one of the most stable and respected career fields in Kenya. The demand for doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and specialists continues to grow as Kenya expands universal health coverage and builds more hospitals.
To pursue any health career, you must choose the Pure Sciences track under the STEM pathway in Grade 10. Your core subjects will be:
Biology and Chemistry are MANDATORY for medicine, pharmacy, nursing, dentistry, and veterinary medicine. You cannot enter these careers without them.
What They Do
Doctors diagnose and treat illnesses, injuries, and health conditions. They prescribe medication, order tests, interpret results, and provide preventive care. In Kenya, doctors work in hospitals, clinics, NGOs, or private practice.

Where to Study in Kenya
Years of Study
