About EdVibe
We are a science education platform run by someone who could not afford to be taught badly.
EdVibe is a free learning platform for Chemistry, Physics and Biology. Open a lesson, work through it properly, test yourself, and find out exactly where your reasoning broke — no paywall, no subscription, no form in the way.
It was started in 2024 by Mwanzia Lewis Mutua, a B.Ed Science student at South Eastern Kenya University who kept writing other people’s notes because he could not find notes that explained anything. That is the whole company. This page is the honest version of it.

Our story
It started with notes I had to write for myself
In 2024 I was a second-year B.Ed Science student balancing university with looking after my siblings at home, and I was doing what everybody does the night before an exam: reading a textbook and still not understanding why.
What made it worse was not that the material was hard. It was that nobody had explained it. Textbooks answer what exists; they rarely answer why it behaves that way, and they never tell you which single sentence is the one that makes the rest click. So I started writing my own notes — properly, from scratch, with the reasoning intact — and using them to revise.
Those notes turned out to be useful to other people. When I shared them, the reaction was always the same: not “thank you”, but “this is the first time this has made sense.” That is the entire reason EdVibe exists. Every KCSE Chemistry and Physics note on this platform was written by me, in that first stretch of 2024, before there were users or a business or anything resembling a plan.
EdVibe is still run the same way. It is one person writing, checking and correcting science, deciding what belongs on the site. We are not a venture anything and we are not trying to become one. We want more students to stop struggling in silence with material that simply was never explained properly.

How we got here
Four years, one stubborn idea
No funding round, no growth team. Just a sequence of small, honest steps.
The problem showed up
Revision notes that listed answers without building understanding. Same syllabus, same students, same wall.
The first notes
Every KCSE Chemistry and Physics note written by hand, for my own revision, then shared with whoever needed them.
Built the platform
Notes became a site. Quizzes, flashcards, simulations and an AI tutor that shows its working instead of just the answer.
Still free, still one person
Same promise as day one: nothing behind a paywall, and every number on this page read live from the database.
What we will not do
The list that matters more than the feature list
Anyone can add features. These are the lines we have chosen not to cross, and they are the reason to trust the rest of the site.
No card, no trial that quietly expires, no topic you can read the first page of and then pay for. If it is on EdVibe, it is free.
Every count on this page is queried from the live database at the moment you load it. No rounded-up marketing figures, no testimonials we made up.
Every page is made to survive patchy data and an ordinary second-hand phone, because that is what most of the students who need this are actually using.
The AI tutor exists to answer the question you were too embarrassed to ask out loud. It is a study aid, not a claim to be your education.
What we believe
Four rules we do not bend
These decide arguments about the product. When two options are technically possible, these settle it.
Understand first, memorise second
If a student can repeat it but not explain it, we have not taught it. Every explanation is written so the reasoning survives on its own.
Show the working, not just the verdict
A wrong answer with the steps explained is worth more than a right answer you got by guessing. That is the entire point of the quizzes here.
Free at the point of learning
Free is a structural decision, not a promotion. Charging was never on the table, so there is nothing here waiting to be paid for later.
Build for the weakest connection
Old phone, little data, no quiet study space. The design target is the least resourced student, not the newest device.

Quizzes where every wrong answer comes back with the working. You find out where your reasoning broke, not just that it did.
Simulations you can break
Change the variables and watch what fails. Understanding arrives faster from a broken setup than from a perfect diagram.
An AI tutor that shows its reasoning
Ask why something happens, not only what the answer is. It walks through the step and stops when you actually have it.
Progress you can see
XP, streaks and topic mastery — not to pressure you, but so the twenty minutes you did not waste are obvious.

EdVibe is not built around one examination board. The science is the same everywhere — only the depth changes — so join wherever you genuinely are.
Lower secondary
Building the core ideas properly the first time: particles, forces, energy, the atom, and how to write a scientific answer instead of guessing one.

Where separate topics start to touch. Rates, equilibrium, waves and fields, taught as one connected system rather than isolated chapters.
